The Inevitable Hillary
It appears that Hillary Rodham Clinton has been anointed as savior of the U.S. of A. Polls, pundits, and national media types consider her victory a fait accompli. I know, the election is 16 months away, but rest assured, she will carry the day. Woohoo.
I bring you tidings of great joy. There is no way Hillary can become President of the U.S. Let's start with the simple truths: she is more wooden than Pinnochio. Like it or not, since television was invented, it has generally been the candidate with personality who wins the day, re: Kennedy, Nixon. Even that was too close for words...less than 200,000 votes overall, unless I'm mistaken. Speed ahead to 2000, whether you think that election was stolen or not, George W. makes Al Gore look like a temple carving. The inconvenient truth here is that Al Gore is political Prozac.
Barack Obama has the possibilities, but not the machine. In 3,4 years he could be a serious contender, but all he has now is charm, and race. Yes, it is going to factor in. It won't put him over the top, but it will undermine Hillary's base.
Hillary will, barely, win the Democratic nomination, but she will not win the Presidency, not by a long shot.
Her mere presence will bring out republican voters en masse', and conservatives do outnumber liberals in this country by a considerable margin. My prediction? Fred D. Thompson will be our next Commander in Chief. Rudy Giuliani will fade when the conservatives step up, McCain is too liberal by half, and Romney is too wishy-washy to maintain support. Fred has the name recognition, the star-power to keep it going. As for personality, he makes Hillary look like a mud hut...belay that, she needs no assistance to pull off that comparison.
